Abraham Lincoln Nature Park

Fallen logs, hollowed out trees, a daredevil's paradise.

W1 and L1 zipped along the tops of the logs, and H1 did her best to keep up. And I did my best to look the other way while she was hopping from log to log.

After my adrenaline died down, and after a quick picnic lunch, we took off down a hiking trail.

W1 did a great job as hiking leader, spotting all the white blazes on the trees, and keeping us on task.

H1 was enamored with the unidentifiable berries on the side of the trail, determined to make them a snack.

Given that the trail was straight downhill, then straight uphill, and humidity was high, the hike went fairly smoothly. Dare I say all this hiking indoctrination is paying off?
