How was your Easter?

We hope it was great (and perhaps warmer and more springlike than ours?) But, ours was pretty good. We managed to make a trip to the grocery store on Saturday, where we noticed that once you put 2 kids in a cart, there isn't much room left for groceries. We also discovered (again) that Saturday is the worst day to go grocery shopping. Maybe we will remember that for next time...

Also on Saturday we initiated w1 into the most important Easter tradition: dying eggs. He enjoyed it more than I thought he would, and actually stayed pretty clean.

Then, on Sunday we had a small egg hunt for w1. I'm not sure I have shared with you yet what a fan w1 is of M&Ms. If he were to randomly come across a bowl of them, he would cram them into his mouth by the handful (as evidenced by exactly that happening at a friends house at Christmas). Once, we were at the fabric store and someone who was snacking on M&Ms while shopping had left a trail of them down the aisle. w1 thought it was his lucky day until I didn't let him eat any of them. So, to put it mildly, w1 likes M&Ms. For the egg hunt we put a single M&M into each plastic egg and hid them around the living room.

With a little help, w1 found most of them. Except for this one:

Do you see it? Right next to the plant. This was the last egg. He didn't find it until an hour or so later, when he happened to be running by on the way to the kitchen. But, trying to come to an abrupt stop on hardwood floors wearing only socks is always dangerous. After a spectacular fall, at least he got to eat one more M&M as a consolation.

And, of course, l1 slept through most of it:

He is so cute. i love the light hair. i hope he sleeps for you a lot. that's the only thing that saves you with two! we had two really grumpy kids on easter...jeremy and i were so ready to stick them in bed without candy, but we gave in and they had lots of fun. luckily some friends from work had a nice thing the day before so we didn't have to do that much!
